Ear Candling by Bria Burton
Growing up, you would usually find me swimming in our pool every day during the summer. This meant I would normally get swimmer’s ear or a bad ear infection at least once each season, which was not fun to deal with. It wasn’t until I was around 12 years old (I am almost 20 now) that my family discovered ear candling. They solved all my ear issues!
For those that do not know, ear candles are a long candle made from beeswax that creates a vacuum vortex when the upper end is lit on fire. You put the other end in your ear, the end that is not on fire of course, and you will soon start to hear the wax pop and rise from your ear and inner ear canal. Not only have I used these ear candles for getting the water out of my ears after swimming, I also use them when I start to notice that my allergies are getting bad and I can feel my ears getting itchy.
After using an ear candle, you will be amazed at how much better you can hear, and in awe of all the wax build up that has come out of your ear. I personally feel a huge relief after I do one ear candle. However, I will occasionally do two if I am experiencing an ear infection or an earache, typically in the wintertime, just to make sure I get everything out and to be on the safe side. On another note, the candling works as a great alternative rather than going to the doctor and having to have your ears flush or sucked out which I have done several times.
If you have ear problems or want to clean them deeper than a Q-tip can safely reach, then I would highly recommend checking out ear candling and seeing if it is right for you. For me it has been a great safe and effective method with results that last and provide relief for my ear issues.
